Invoice Without SST for Malaysia

Not every business in Malaysia charges SST. If you are a freelancer or small business below the registration threshold, or you are simply not registered, you need a clean invoice with no tax lines at all. This template does exactly that. Malaysia replaced GST with the Sales and Service Tax in 2018: sales tax applies to goods at 5% or 10% and service tax to many services at 8%.

Add your details, your client and what you sold; the total, any discount, shipping and the amount in words are calculated for you in Malaysian Ringgit (MYR), with dates in the local format (26/10/2026). You can print a short note such as "Not registered for SST." so your client knows why no SST is shown.

If you register later, switch "Add taxes" on and the same invoice becomes a invoice, keeping everything you typed. Your data stays in this browser, nothing is uploaded, and the PDF is created on your device.

What a simple invoice in Malaysia should include

  • Your name or business name and contact details
  • Your client's name and address
  • A unique invoice number and the invoice date
  • A description of each item or service with quantity and price
  • The total, any discount and how to pay
  • Optional: "Not registered for SST."

Frequently asked questions

When can I issue an invoice without SST?

When you are not registered for SST, usually because your turnover is below the registration threshold, or the sale is outside its scope. Check the current threshold with your tax authority.

What should I write instead of tax?

Many businesses add a short line such as "Not registered for SST." The generator can print it for you.

Can I switch to a tax invoice later?

Yes. Turn "Add taxes" on and the same invoice becomes a tax invoice. Item rates are remembered, and no typing is lost.
