Free Quotation Generator
A quotation tells a client exactly what you will deliver and what it will cost before any work starts. A clear quote with a validity date protects you if prices change, and makes it easy for the client to approve.
This quotation generator uses the same editor as the invoice: add items, discounts and tax for your country, set a "Valid until" date and download a PDF. When the client accepts, duplicate the quote and switch the document type to Invoice: every line is already filled in.
What a quotation should include
- The word "Quotation" and a quote number
- Your details and the client's details
- Each item or service with quantity and price
- Tax, if you are registered, and the quoted total
- A "valid until" date
- Terms such as payment schedule and what is not included
Frequently asked questions
What is the difference between a quote and an estimate?
A quote is a fixed price for a defined job. An estimate is your best guess and may change. Both can be made here.
How do I turn a quote into an invoice?
Open the quote, choose More, Duplicate invoice, then set the document type to Invoice. The items stay; a new invoice number is used.
Should a quote include tax?
If you are registered for GST or VAT, show tax so the client knows the full price. Turn "Add taxes" on or off as needed.
