Free GST/HST Invoice Generator for Canada

This free GST/HST invoice generator is set up for Canada. It prints the title "Invoice", adds your GST/HST number, applies GST/HST at GST, HST, PST or QST depending on the province and keeps every total exact to the smallest unit of Canadian Dollar (CAD). Canadian sales tax follows the province of supply: HST in Ontario and the Atlantic provinces, GST alone in Alberta and the territories, and GST plus PST or QST elsewhere.

Fill in your business, your client and the items; the invoice builds itself beside the form. Each line can carry its own rate, and the totals show the taxable value, each tax line and the grand total, followed by the amount in words. Special cases are covered too (zero-rated (0%) and exempt): pick the treatment and the legal wording is printed for you. Dates follow the local format (2026-10-26).

Nothing you type leaves your computer: drafts, saved clients and your invoice history stay in this browser, and the PDF is created on your device. Rates were last checked on 2026-10-26; tax rules change, so confirm anything unusual with your tax authority.

Frequently asked questions

What GST/HST rates can I use for Canada?

The generator offers GST, HST, PST or QST depending on the province. These are starting values last checked on 2026-10-26. GST 5%; HST 13% (ON), 14% (NS from April 2025), 15% (NB, NL, PE); PST/RST/QST by province. PST is charged by the seller only when registered in that province. Check canada.ca and the provincial authority.

Do I need my GST/HST number on the invoice?

Yes. A invoice should show your GST/HST number. The generator checks the format and warns you if it looks wrong, but never blocks your download.

Can I enter prices that already include tax?

Yes. Choose "Including GST/HST" and the generator works the tax back out of each price, so the total equals the prices you entered.

Is this a government e-invoice?

No. It creates a PDF invoice for you to send. Canada does not require a government e-invoicing system for most small businesses, but check if that changes.

Where is my invoice data stored?

Only in your own browser. Nothing is uploaded, and the generator works offline after the first visit.
